Maestro Michael Morgan and the Bear Valley Music Festival thank you for making our 2016 program a smashing success! We couldn’t have done it without you.
This year, we arranged for a barbecue meal to be provided at the Festival tent for all evening concerts. In addition, Skyline Bear Valley provided round trip shuttle transportation from Forest Meadows, Arnold and Dorrington. We look forward to continuing these services in 2017.
Highlights of our 2016 Festival included tributes to JOURNEY and THE BEATLES plus a performance by world-famous jazz violinist Mads Tolling. On opening night, we presented the T Sisters who returned to Bear Valley by popular demand. Our classical concerts included arguably the greatest symphony of all time—Beethoven’s Fifth—and a matinee by renowned cellist Emil Miland and Friends. The Del Sol String Quartet performed familiar and new chamber music, and our concerto selections featured piano soloist Llewellyn Sanchez-Werner, trumpet soloist John Pearson, and cello soloist Lucas Chen. Violinist Dawn Harms once again charmed children and families in our Free Annual Family Concert covering 300 years of music history, and our patrons savored some of the region’s finest wines while enjoying great music in the Festival’s annual Sips & Sonatas concert. Our gala benefit dinner on Saturday, August 6 transported us back in time to the music-filled era of the Speakeasy, and we even got a taste of opera with George Chadwick’s Tabasco led by guest conductor Maestro Paul Mauffray.
