New Music Director Announced

The Bear Valley Music Festival is excited to announce Alexander Mickelthwate as our new Music Director, only the fourth Music Director in our 54-year history! Alexander is Music Director of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic where he’s built a reputation for creating uniquely tailored programs to bring in new audiences. We’re excited about his fresh ideas for Bear Valley.

2022 Music Festival Dates

The Music Festival will return to the full-length format this summer. Opening night will be Friday, July 22nd and the Festival will run through Sunday, August 7th.  We expect to announce programming in early May.  Mark your calendars and we’ll see you at the big white tent!

Housing Needed for Bear Valley Orchestra

The Bear Valley Music Festival is looking for volunteers to house our Orchestra musicians for the upcoming 2022 Music Festival.  If you have a room or two available in the Bear Valley area, please read our Question and Answers page to learn about how you could do your part to assist us with this years festival!

Maestro Michael Morgan Passes

The Bear Valley Music Festival is devastated to let you know that Michael Morgan has died of complications from an infection following his May 2021 kidney transplant. He fought hard for his life in the Oakland Kaiser Hospital for over a week, but the infection was too serious and he succumbed on August 20, 2021.
