An Evening of Remembrance
Strauss / Handel / Mendelssohn

The orchestral portion of the Festival opens with Strauss’ dramatic Metamorphosen for 23 solo strings. Written at the end of World War Two, its theme of change resonates with us all in an especially profound way this year.

Also performed this night will be Handel’s Concerto Grosso Op. 6 and Mendelssohn’s String Symphony No. 10. It’s a night for remembrance and celebrating being together again.
