Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nachtmusik (or “A Little Night Music”) is admired for its lively, joyful quality. Mozart called it “his little serenade,” but it’s among his most well known and loved compositions.
Continuing the night theme, long-time Music Festival flautist Mathew Krejci will perform Arthur Foote’s A Night Piece which was called “fresh and spontaneous, plentiful in melody and colored with beauty” when it premiered in 1919.
The evening will be rounded out with Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings.
